NCS2K-400G-XP is the Cisco NCS 2000 400 Gbps XPonder line card, a two-slot-wide DWDM card with 400 Gbps of client capacity and 400 Gbps of trunk capacity. The spare is NCS2K-400G-XP=, a 400G CFP2 MR xponder. Up to three cards fit one NCS 2006 shelf and up to seven fit an NCS 2015 shelf.
The two CFP2-based trunk ports each carry 100, 150 or 200 Gbps on a single carrier, using QPSK, 8-QAM or 16-QAM modulation set in software, with soft-decision FEC at 15% and 25% overhead. On the client side there are six QSFP+ ports for 40 Gbps or 4 x 10 Gbps optics and four QSFP28/QSFP+ ports for 100 Gbps, 40 Gbps or 4 x 10 Gbps optics.
The card accepts any mix of 40 x 10G, 8 x 40GE plus 8 x 10GE, and 4 x 100G signals up to 400 Gbps, and it can groom them into two 200 Gbps wavelengths or a 400G dual-wavelength super-channel. An embedded OTN switch handles ODU-2 and ODU-4 switching between client and trunk ports. With 200 Gbps 16-QAM, one fiber pair can carry 25.4 Tbps.
