N7K-SUP1 is the Cisco Nexus 7000 Supervisor Module and includes an external 8 GB flash. It runs on a dual-core Intel Xeon processor with 4 GB of DRAM, 2 GB of internal flash and 2 Mb of battery-backed NVRAM. Compact flash slots take 8 GB for log storage and 2 GB for expansion storage.
Management access is through one 10/100/1000-Mbps supervisor management Ethernet port with inline IEEE 802.1AE MAC security, and one 10/100/1000-Mbps connectivity management processor (CMP) Ethernet port. There is one RJ45 console serial port, one RJ45 auxiliary serial port and three USB ports, two host and one device.
The module works in the Nexus 7009, 7010 and 7018 chassis and needs Cisco NX-OS 4.0 or later. Two supervisors are required per system for high availability, with one active and the other hot standby, and out-of-band access to both is available through either CMP. The spare part number is N7K-SUP1=.
