WS-X45-SUP7L-E is the Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series Supervisor Engine 7L-E, rated at 520 Gbps centralized switching capacity with 48 Gbps per slot (24 Gbps per slot in the 4507R-E chassis). Forwarding is 225 Mpps for IPv4, 110 Mpps for IPv6 and 225 Mpps for Layer 2 bridging.
The uplinks are two nonblocking 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports or four nonblocking 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports. A 10/100/1000 RJ-45 port provides console and management access. The supervisor has 2 GB of SDRAM and 1 GB of boot flash, with SD-X45-2GB-E (2 GB DRAM) and USB-X45-4GB-E (4 GB USB device) as optional upgrades.
It runs in the 3-, 6- and 7-slot E-Series chassis (4503-E, 4506-E, 4507R-E and 4507R+E) and is not compatible with the classic Catalyst 4500 chassis. The 4507R+E and 4507R-E chassis support 1+1 supervisor redundancy with NSF/SSO and ISSU, and Virtual Switching System pairing is supported.
Each unit ships with a universal image covering LAN Base, IP Base and Enterprise Services, with the feature level set by the license applied; the minimum release is Cisco IOS XE 3.2.0XO. Scale includes 55,000 MAC addresses, 64,000 IPv4 routes, 32,000 IPv6 routes, 4,094 VLANs and 128,000 Flexible NetFlow entries. Maximum power draw is 263 W for an active supervisor and 224 W for a standby supervisor.
