SM-X-4X1G-1X10G is a Cisco single-wide Enhanced Service Module (SM-X) with two port modes: four 1G dual-mode GE/SFP ports, or one 10G SFP+ port. The two modes are exclusive, since use of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet port disables the other ports. Cisco orders it as a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet, dual-mode GE/SFP or 1-port 10G SFP+ SM-X module.
The ports are routed Layer 3 ports, and Layer 2 switching between ports is not supported. Packet and byte statistics are kept per port instead of per VLAN, and feature support is identical to the onboard ports. Input packet classification is done on the module for IPv4/IPv6 or 802.1Q, which are mutually exclusive. Auto-switchover and auto-failover are available with Cisco IOS XE Release 3.16. Hard online insertion and removal is supported, MACsec and Power over Ethernet are not.
The module is 1.57 x 8.11 x 8.15 in (40 x 206 x 207 mm) and weighs 848 g. It operates at 32 to 104 F (0 to 40 C), with storage at -38 to 150 F (-40 to 70 C), 5 to 95 percent relative humidity and 5 to 85 percent operating humidity.
