Cisco Catalyst 9600X Line Card, 30 x 100G/40G QSFP28 and 2 x 400G QSFP-DD, C9600X-LC-32CD

C9600X-LC-32CD is a Catalyst 9600X line card with 30 QSFP28 ports at 100G or 40G and two QSFP-DD ports at 400G, 200G or 100G. Four QSFP28 ports can be converted into two QSFP-DD ports. All ports need pluggable optics.

The card runs only with the C9600X-SUP-2 supervisor, from Cisco IOS XE 17.9.1, and is not supported with the C9600-SUP-1. With that supervisor (3.2 Tbps full duplex) it is non-blocking on 30 ports of 100G/40G plus two ports of 400G/200G/100G. A chassis can hold up to 128 ports of 40GE or 100GE and 8 ports of 200GE or 400GE.

AES-256 MACsec is supported, and WAN MACsec works on the C9600X-SUP-2 with an HSEC licence. Power draw is 420 W. The card weighs 3.95 kg (8.71 lb) and has a calculated MTBF of 580,420 hours. The card is built for high port-density campus core or edge designs that use mostly QSFP optics. It measures 1.7 x 15.0 x 13.41 in (4.32 x 38.1 x 34.06 cm) to the faceplate and operates at -5 to 45 C up to 6,000 ft.
