DS-SFP-FC16G-SW is the Cisco 16 Gbps Fibre Channel shortwave SFP+ for MDS 9000 Series switches, ordered as a 16 Gbps Fibre Channel SW SFP+ with an LC connector. It provides connectivity for 4, 8 and 16 Gbps ports and autosenses the speed of the link.
The optic works at 850 nm over multimode fiber and uses dual LC connectors, with a minimum cable distance of 2 m (6.5 ft). Operating temperature is 0 to 70 C and storage temperature is -40 to 85 C. The module is built to the FC-PI 1600 family of Fibre Channel physical-interface standards, including the 1600-M5-SN-S and 1600-M5E-SN-I multimode variants, and the laser is Class I.
The 16G shortwave SFP+ is supported on the DS-C9148T-K9, DS-C9132T-K9, DS-C9220I-K9, DS-C9396T-K9, DS-C9396S-K9, DS-C9148S-K9 and DS-C9250I-K9 fixed switches and on the DS-X9448-768K9, DS-X9334-K9, DS-X9648-1536K9 and DS-X9748-3072K9 modules. On the DS-C9148T-K9, DS-C9132T-K9, DS-C9220I-K9 and DS-C9396T-K9, 2G speeds are not supported and 8G SFPs run at 4G and 8G only.
The Cisco MDS 9148S 16G Fibre Channel switch (DS-C9148S-K9) is one of the switches that takes this SFP+, and more optics are in Cisco interface cards and transceivers.
