ST10000VE0008 is the 10TB standard 512E model of the Seagate SkyHawk AI SATA drive. It uses a 7200 RPM spindle and a 256MB cache buffer, and presents 512-byte logical sectors over 4096-byte physical sectors.
Thirteen heads work across eight discs at 1058 Gb/in2 areal density, recording at 2426 Kb/in and 436 ktracks/in. Outer-diameter sustained transfer reaches 239 MiB/s (250 MB/s), the internal data rate peaks at 2833 Mb/s, and the SATA link runs at up to 600MB/s with 4.16 ms average latency.
Native Command Queuing, PowerChoice power savings, S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and Worldwide Name identification are supported, and the drive can be hot-plugged under Serial ATA Revision 3.3. The drive weighs up to 690g (1.521 lb) and startup draws a typical 1.8A on the 12V rail.
The annualized failure rate is 0.44% at 8760 power-on hours, the maximum workload is under 550TB per year, the load-unload rating is 300,000 cycles, and nonrecoverable read errors are limited to one sector per 10E15 bits read.
