A9K-MOD80-TR is the Packet Transport Optimized version of the ASR 9000 Mod80 modular line card. It carries no fixed ports: it requires modular port adapters, and up to two are supported on each card. The TR suffix means Packet Transport Optimized, intended for deployments where basic QoS is required, while the SE variant is Service Edge Optimized for enhanced QoS.
It is compatible with the ASR 9922, 9010, 9006 and 9001 systems. The maximum number of line cards per system is 20 in the ASR 9922, 8 in the ASR 9010 and 4 in the ASR 9006. The minimum software is Cisco IOS XR 4.2.0 for the A9K-Mod80 TR and SE cards.
An optional licence, A9K-MOD80-AIP-TR, enables the Advanced IP feature set with full-scale VRF instances on each Packet Transport Optimized Mod80 card.
The same family includes the A9K-MOD400-SE modular line card; fixed-port cards such as the A9K-8X100GE-SE are in the Cisco routers range.
