A9K-MOD400-SE is the Cisco ASR 9000 400G modular line card, service edge optimized. It has two open bays (bay 0 and bay 1) for modular port adapters (MPAs), supports up to two MPAs and gives a total bandwidth of 400 Gbps per slot. It is ordered under the traditional business model and requires MPAs to provide ports.
With MPAs fitted, port density reaches up to 40 x 10G, or 64 x 1G, 4 x 40G or 4 x 100G interfaces. The A9K-MPA-2X40GE is one adapter in this family, with two 40 Gigabit Ethernet ports that need QSFP optics.
Cisco lists the card as compatible with the ASR 9922, 9912, 9910, 9906, 9904, 9010 and 9006 routers, with these maximum cards per system: 20 (ASR 9922), 10 (ASR 9912), 8 (ASR 9910), 4 (ASR 9906), 2 (ASR 9904), 8 (ASR 9010) and 4 (ASR 9006).
The card weighs 21 lb (9.5 kg) and measures 14.5 in wide, 1.72 in high and 24.25 in long, including the ejector levers.
The A9K-4X100GE-SE is a fixed-port service edge line card, and more modules are in Cisco modules.
