N540-ACC-SYS is the Cisco Network Convergence System 540 chassis ordered as a 24x1/10GE, 8x10/25GE, 2x100GE system. Cisco lists the ports as 24 x 1GE/10GE, 8 x 1GE/10GE/25GE and 2 x 40GE/100GE, with forwarding of up to 300 Mpps. It has a 4-core 1.5 GHz x86 CPU, 16 GB of DRAM and 128 GB of storage, and it runs the XR-6.5 software train.
Two hot-swappable AC/DC power supplies run 1+1 redundant, from AC 90 to 265 V at 50 to 60 Hz or DC -40 to -72 V, with N540-PWR400-A and N540-PWR400-D as the ordering options. Cisco gives power as under 100 W minimum, under 200 W typical and 250 W maximum. Four modular fans (N540-FAN) run 3+1 redundant with front-to-back airflow.
The industrial temperature range is -40 to +70 C at 1,000 ft, +65 C at 6,000 ft and +55 C at 13,000 ft, at 5 to 95 percent non-condensing humidity. Timing support covers SyncE, PTP and an internal GNSS receiver with 1PPS, 10 MHz and ToD, Class B. The chassis is 1RU, 26 cm deep (1.72 x 17.3 x 10.1 in) and weighs 5.9 kg, and it is NEBS GR-63-CORE and GR-1089-CORE compliant. The conformally coated sibling is N540X-ACC-SYS.
