Cisco ASR 900 Route Switch Processor 2, 128G, Base Scale

A900-RSP2A-128 is the Cisco ASR 900 Route Switch Processor 2, 128G, base scale. Cisco gives it 128 Gbps of maximum interface throughput and 180 Mpps for both IPv4 and IPv6, with 4 GB of DRAM and 2 GB of flash. Chassis power with two power supplies, one fan tray and one RSP is 180 W, and the MTBF at 40 C is 400,000 hours. The spare is A900-RSP2A-128=.

Management ports are a 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 LAN port, an RS-232 console/aux RJ-45 port and a USB 2.0 Type A console port, with a USB 2.0 Type A port for mass storage. Timing ports are BITS (J1/T1/E1, RJ48), 1 PPS and 2.048/10 MHz, all with simultaneous input and output.

Cisco's single-dimension scale for this RSP is 16,000 MAC addresses, 4,000 bridge domains, 1,000 L3 interfaces, 20,000 IPv4 routes, 4,000 IPv6 routes, 8,000 queues, 10,000 classifications and 6,000 ingress policers. Not every service can reach its maximum at once, and scale depends on the switch device template.

The RSP2A is supported in the ASR 902 and ASR 903 chassis, from Cisco IOS XE 3.13.0S. The A900-RSP2A-128 is the RSP2A that supports the A900-IMA3G-IMSG TDM module.
