BR-6505-12-16G-0R is the Brocade 6505 Fibre Channel switch in its 12-port configuration with 16Gb SFPs, AC power and one power supply (shipping configuration BR 6505,12P,16 GB SFPS,BR,AC, 1 PSU).
Brocade began the end-of-life process for the 6505 on October 31, 2019. The last time order date was February 28, 2020, the last customer ship date was April 30, 2020, Fabric OS end-of-availability was April 30, 2023 and the end-of-support date is April 30, 2025. For BR-6505-12-16G-0R the recommended replacement is BR-G610-8-16G-0.
It was also the recommended alternative when Brocade ended the BR-6505-12-0R (12 ports, no SFPs, AC, 1 PSU) on March 5, 2018. The same 6505 family includes BR-6505-24-16G-1R, a 24-port model with 16Gb SFPs, the enterprise bundle, AC and one power supply, and the FRU XBR-6505-12-0R, a 12-port 6505 without SFPs that is a separate ordering number.
