BR-6505-12-0R is the Brocade 6505 12-port Fibre Channel switch supplied with no SFPs, with AC power and one power supply.
Broadcom positions the 6505 as an entry-level Gen 5 switch available as 12-port or 24-port configurations. It supports 2, 4, 8 and 16G port speeds, with 384 Gb/s of total bandwidth and 128 Gb/s of ISL trunking bandwidth. Power efficiency is 0.14 watts per Gb/s. There is a single hot-swappable power supply with room for an optional second, and airflow is back-to-front. D_Port diagnostics and forward error correction are included, while encryption, in-flight compression, 10G native Fibre Channel and Fibre Channel routing are not.
Brocade announced end of life for this SKU on March 5, 2018. The last time order date was June 25, 2018 and the last customer ship date was August 31, 2018. Broadcom named BR-6505-12-16G-0R or BR-G610-8-16G-0 as alternatives. For the 6505 line as a whole, end-of-life notification was October 31, 2019, last customer ship was April 30, 2020 and end of support is April 30, 2025, with the Brocade G610 as the recommended replacement.
The fixed rack mount kit shared by the 6505 and 6510 is XBR-R000291, and the mid-mount kit is XBR-R000292.
