BR-G620-24-32G-F is a Brocade G620 32Gb Fibre Channel switch. Broadcom names it as the recommended alternative to the 24-port Brocade 6510 models BR-6510-24-16G-F and BR-6510-24-8G-F.
In switch mode the G620 ships with a minimum of 24 ports and tops out at 64. More ports come in 12-port SFP+ steps and one 4-port QSFP step through Ports on Demand. In Access Gateway mode the default mapping is 40 SFP+ F_Ports and 8 SFP+ N_Ports. Media types include 32G SWL, 16G SWL, LWL and ELWL, 10G SWL and LWL, and 4x32G and 4x16G QSFP+.
A T1022 processor with two cores at 1.2 GHz handles Fabric Vision, 15,360 frame buffers are allocated dynamically, and an internal e-USB module provides 2 GB of storage for firmware and logs. Management is through a 1000/100/10 Mb/s RJ-45 port, with one external USB connector. Port-to-port latency is 780 ns for switch type 162 and 560 ns for type 183, including FEC.
On the -F suffix, Broadcom ties power supply and fan assembly part numbers ending -F to exhaust units: they pull air in at the port side and exhaust it at the nonport side, which is front-to-back airflow, and they carry a green E label. The assemblies in a chassis must match each other in airflow, and the 250 W AC unit with exhaust airflow is XBR-G250WPSAC-F.
