BR-G620-48-32G-R and BR-G620-48-32G are Brocade G620 32Gb Fibre Channel switches, the Gen 6 1U SAN switch. Broadcom names BR-G620-48-32G-R as the recommended alternative to the 48-port BR-6510-48-16G-R, whose airflow is port-side exhaust.
The G620 chassis has 48 hot-pluggable SFP+ slots and 4 hot-pluggable QSFP slots. Switch mode starts at 24 ports and grows to 64 through 12-port SFP+ Ports on Demand licenses and one 4-port QSFP license. Ports autosense 4, 8, 16 and 32G, aggregate bandwidth is 2 Tb/s, and 10G can be fixed on selected FC ports with an optional license.
Broadcom offers the switch in two airflow versions: front-to-back with nonport-side exhaust, and back-to-front with nonport-side intake. Power supply and fan assemblies are marked by suffix. Part numbers ending -R are nonport-side intake units (back-to-front), and those ending -F are exhaust units. The 250 W AC XBR-G250WPSAC-F and -R and the 250 W DC XBR-G250WPSDC-R cover the options, and both supplies in a chassis must match.
Two redundant hot-swappable supplies with integrated fans take 90 to 264 V AC at up to 3.5 A. Maximum draw is 205 W with all 64 ports populated, and 85 W for an empty chassis. The switch measures 440 x 43.9 x 355.6 mm (17.32 x 1.73 x 14.00 in) and weighs 7.07 kg with two supplies and no transceivers, or 8.41 kg fully populated.
