4XB7A10196 (feature code B34J) is the ThinkSystem 2.5-inch PM883 480GB Entry SATA 6Gb hot-swap SSD. It is a low-cost, read-intensive Samsung drive on a 6 Gbps SATA interface, built with Samsung 32-layer V-NAND that stacks the NAND layers vertically to avoid the cell-to-cell interference of planar NAND.
The 480GB capacity reaches 98,000 random read IOPS and 24,000 random write IOPS with 4 KB blocks, plus 550 MBps sequential read and 520 MBps sequential write with 128 KB blocks. Random read latency is 120 µs and random write latency is 40 µs. Typical power is 2.3 W reading and 2.9 W writing.
Endurance is 0.8 drive writes per day over 5 years, with 683 TB total bytes written and an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours. Data reliability is better than 1 unrecoverable error in 10^17 bits read. The drive has Samsung power-loss protection, Dynamic Thermal Guard protection against overheating, an advanced ECC engine with end-to-end data protection and S.M.A.R.T. support.
