AD556C HP EVA6100 2C4D Independent Bundle

AD556C is the HP StorageWorks EVA6100 2C4D independent bundle. HP's naming for the earlier EVA4000 explains the code: 2C1D means a pair of controllers plus one drive enclosure, so 2C4D is a controller pair with four 14-bay drive enclosures. HP's M5314 installation guide states that the M5314C drive enclosure is the one used with the EVA6100 and EVA8100, so the four shelves in this bundle are the same type sold as AD542C.

For a failed or mismatched part, PartSurfer lists spares under this number: the HSV200-A 4GB Fibre Channel controller (390856-005), a 10-port controller assembly with 4GB cache (512730-001), the 4.0V controller cache battery (512735-001), the 6-port front bezel (411633-005), the drive enclosure blower (123482-005) and blower kit (483017-001), and Fibre Channel cables from 0.41 m to 2.0 m (496917-001, 432375-001, 432374-001). A shelf ID expander cable is listed as 399341-001.

Controller and software compatibility matters on this generation. HP's EVA compatibility reference lists the EVA4100 and EVA6100 as sharing the HSV200-A controller, says XCS 6.110 is the minimum controller software for the EVA4100/6100/8100, and shows data-in-place upgrade paths from the EVA4000/6000 (HSV200) and from the EVA3000/5000 to the 4100/6100 controller, and from the 4100/6100 to the EVA8100.
