4XB7A13971 (feature code BNEL) is the ThinkSystem 2.5" U.3 7450 MAX 6.4TB Mixed Use NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 hot-swap SSD, built on the Micron 7450 MAX with 176-layer 3D TLC NAND. The supplier model is MTFDKCC6T4TFS-1BC15ABYY, and the drive makes a direct PCIe 4.0 x4 connection, good for up to 8 GBps.
Endurance is 3.0 drive writes per day for five years, or 35,000 TB written. Random 4 KB throughput reaches 1,000,000 read IOPS and 400,000 write IOPS, and 128 KB sequential transfers run at 6800 MBps read and 5600 MBps write. Random latency is 80 µs for reads and 15 µs for writes, typical power is 12.2 W reading and 15 W writing, and MTBF is 2,000,000 hours.
The drive complies with TCG Opal 2.01 and adds a Secure Execution Environment, asymmetric roots of trust, secure boot and key-based firmware update and privileged-access checks. Power-loss protection and adaptive thermal monitoring are built in. At 6.4TB the drive is 15 mm thick without its tray (the 3.2TB and smaller drives are 7 mm), 70 mm wide and 100 mm deep, and weighs 70 g.
ThinkSystem servers that support it are the SR630 V3, SR650 V3, SR635 V3, SR645 V3, SR655 V3, SR665 V3, SR675 V3, SR685a V3, SR850 V3, SR860 V3, SD535 V3 and ThinkEdge SE455 V3. The 7450 MAX range continues with 3.2TB drive 4XB7A13970 (BNEY) and the 12.8TB drive 4XB7A84056 (BRG0), and the 1.6TB drive is 4XB7A13967 (BNEJ).
