This splitter cable has one QSFP+ transceiver on one end and four SFP+ transceivers on the other, turning a single 40GbE port into four 10GbE links over 3 m (9.84 ft) of copper. It is designed for HPE BladeSystem c-Class. The Virtual Connect FlexFabric-20/40 F8 module for c-Class BladeSystem supports it among its QSFP+ copper options.
Fully loaded, the cable weighs 1.62 lb. Power draw is 0.042 W at most at the QSFP+ end and 0.011 W at each SFP+ end. Each SFP+ fan-out leg is 0.175 in in diameter, with a minimum bend radius of 0.7 in at the SFP+ end and 1.78 in at the QSFP+ end.
Electrical properties are 100 ohm impedance, 26 dB maximum crosstalk between pairs, 1.32 nsec per foot of delay and a 10-15 bit error rate ceiling.
Operating range is 0 to 70 C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, storage is -20 to 80 C, and altitude can reach 10,000 ft (3 km). HPE's spare number for this cable is 746970-001. Other cables are listed in HPE Misc.
