HPE 869083-B21 Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 (16 Int Lanes/4GB Cache/SmartCache) 12G SAS Modular LH Controller

869083-B21 is the left-hand (LH) modular version of HPE's Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10. HPE's ProLiant DL560 Gen10 QuickSpecs list it as a performance RAID controller with 16 internal lanes, 4GB cache and SmartCache, 12G SAS, and note that it does not occupy a PCIe expansion slot. HPE PartSurfer gives the controller spare as 871041-001: an AROC (adaptive RAID on chip) with 16 internal lanes, 4GB flash-backed write cache, 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, 1 ADM and 10 ADM. Revisions -002, -003 and -004 of the same spare also appear. Like other Gen10 performance RAID controllers, it needs the HPE Smart Storage Battery (P01366-B21) or Smart Storage Hybrid Capacitor (P02377-B21) for its cache, sold separately. The DL380 Gen10 uses a different part number for its P816i-a, 804338-B21, so check the server's QuickSpecs before treating the two as interchangeable. Fit check: confirm the server lists 869083-B21 (the LH modular version) and that a Smart Storage Battery or capacitor is present.
