Sold within the HPE Server SSD group, this 960GB Read Intensive NVMe drive links to the server over four PCIe lanes. It is a SFF (2.5in) hot-plug device with an SCN carrier, MLC flash and digitally signed firmware.
The 960GB unit is 7 mm tall and draws 3.22 W when idle. Read Intensive drives in this lineup carry an endurance of at most 1 full drive write per day (DWPD).
Server generations supported for the 960GB model are Gen9 and Gen10. Under load it draws 5.31 W on random reads, 11.56 W on random writes, 5.22 W on sequential reads, 11.04 W on sequential writes and 6.53 W on mixed random read and write.
Enterprise-class here means full data path error detection plus surprise power loss protection. The 960GB drive also supports HPE SmartSSD Wear Gauge, which reports the remaining life and needs Smart Array firmware 5.0 or later.
DWPD is defined as the maximum number of 4K host writes to the entire drive capacity per day over a five-year period. The 480GB SFF model of the same drive is 875587-B21 and the 1.92TB model is 875591-B21.
