BR-G710 is the Brocade G710 Gen 7 Fibre Channel switch. It has 24 SFP+ ports at up to 64G, sold with an 8-port base that two 8-port Ports on Demand licenses raise to 24. The ports run as E, F, M, D or EX ports and auto-sense 8, 16, 32 and 64G.
Aggregate bandwidth is 1.536 Tb/s, and locally switched ports see 460 ns latency including FEC. The switch holds 2,000 dynamically allocated frame buffers. ISL trunks join up to eight SFP+ ports for up to 512 Gb/s, and a fabric can hold up to 239 switches. In Access Gateway mode the default mapping is 16 F_Ports and 8 N_Ports.
The supported optics are 64G SWL and LWL, and 32G SWL, LWL and ELWL SFP+ modules. Management access is a 1000 Mb/s RJ-45 Ethernet port, an RJ-45 serial console port, a USB port and in-band over Fibre Channel.
The 1U chassis is 42.88 cm wide, 4.29 cm high and 30.66 cm deep. It weighs 4.24 kg with its integrated power supply and fans, or 4.84 kg fully populated with transceivers. A single fixed power supply for 100 to 240 V AC feeds four integrated cooling fans, and airflow runs back to front with power from the front. Maximum draw is 105 W with all 24 ports at 64G and 45 W for an empty chassis; typical draw is 65 W with 12 ports and 85 W with 24 ports at a 50 percent traffic rate. Heat output is 185 BTU/hr typical and 350 BTU/hr maximum.
