Ruckus ICX 7450-24 24-Port Gigabit Switch with Modular Slots

ICX7450-24 is the RUCKUS ICX 7450 24-port 1 GbE switch with three modular slots for optional uplink and stacking ports. It is sold bare: power supplies, fans and modules are ordered separately. The 24 fixed ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45, and the switch has no PoE; the PoE+ version is the ICX7450-24P.

One module slot is in the front and two are in the back. RUCKUS offers five modules: ICX7400-4X1GF with four 100 Mbps/1 GbE SFP ports, ICX7400-4X10GF with four 1/10 GbE SFP/SFP+ ports, ICX7400-4X10GC with four 1/10 GbE 10GBASE-T ports, ICX7400-1X40GQ with one 40 GbE QSFP+ port, and ICX7400-SERVICE-MOD for IPsec VPN. The ICX7400-4X1GF cannot go in the rear slots. Across the three slots the switch scales to 12 SFP/SFP+ ports, 12 10GBASE-T ports or three 40 GbE QSFP+ ports.

RUCKUS rates the switching capacity at 288 Gbps and forwarding at 214 Mpps, with 1.3 microseconds average latency. The switch has 2 GB of DRAM and 2 GB of flash, a 4 MB packet buffer, 32,768 MAC addresses, 4,096 VLANs, 9,216-byte jumbo frames and eight priority queues per port. Up to 12 switches stack with 960 Gbps of stacking bandwidth.

RUCKUS gives the fully configured 24-port switch (one AC power supply, one fan, one 4x10 GbE SFP+ module and two QSFP+ stacking modules) a weight of 6.4 kg, a draw of 63 W at idle and 69 W at 100 percent traffic, and an MTBF of 628,369 hours at 25 C. The chassis is 1U at 440 mm x 393.7 mm x 43.7 mm and works at -5 to 50 C. RUCKUS discontinued the ICX 7450-24 on November 14, 2024.
