HPE H6Z07B 3PAR 8440 2-node Storage Field Integrated Base with All-inclusive Single-system Software

H6Z07B is the HPE 3PAR 8440 2-node storage field base with software, the field-integrated two-controller 8440 for installing in an existing rack. HPE QuickSpecs say every 8000 Storage Base SKU is loaded with All-inclusive Single-system Software and uses a 12 Gb/s SAS back end.

The two-node base includes 24 SFF drive bays, four built-in 16 Gb/s FC ports with four shortwave SFPs, two PCIe host adapter slots (one per node), two 2 m SAS cables, a rail kit, power cords and two 1U filler panels reserving space for a four-node upgrade. Each node adds a 1GbE management port and a 1GbE port for Remote Copy over IP or File Persona.

The 8440 runs 10-core 2.4 GHz processors with 192 GiB of on-node cache per node pair and up to 4000 GiB of optional flash cache per pair. A full 8440 supports up to 960 disk drives or 480 SSDs, about 3000 TiB raw and up to 38 add-on enclosures.

Fit check: an installed 8200 or 8400 two-node array can become this model in place with the R0P08A conversion kit. To reach four nodes, add the H6Z08B upgrade node pair; the four-node field base is the H6Z13B. Compatible 3PAR parts are collected on the HPE 3PAR and Nimble page.
