IBM feature #EM61 is a 16 GB DDR4 memory DIMM for the IBM Power System AC922, machine type 8335, models 8335-GTG, 8335-GTH, 8335-GTW and 8335-GTX. Each feature code equates to a single memory DIMM, and the module is a 2666 MHz DDR4 RDIMM with Linux operating system support.
The AC922 is a two-socket POWER9 server with 16 DDR4 RDIMM slots on the main system board, each slot connected directly to a POWER9 processor. The minimum and maximum quantity of #EM61 is 16, because every slot must be populated and different memory feature codes cannot be mixed. Sixteen 16 GB DIMMs make the 256 GB configuration.
On models 8335-GTG and 8335-GTW the 16 GB size is the base: the base memory is 256 GB with sixteen #EM61 DIMMs, and the sizes available there are 16 GB, 32 GB (#EM63) and 64 GB (#EM64). On models 8335-GTH and 8335-GTX the base memory is 128 GB with sixteen 8 GB DIMMs (#EM60), and #EM61 is one of the options with #EM63, #EM64 and 128 GB (#EM65), which tops out at 2048 GB.
