The ThinkSystem M.2 5300 480GB SATA 6Gbps Non-Hot Swap SSD is Lenovo feature code B919 (option 4XB7A17073). It is an M.2 SATA module that mounts on a ThinkSystem M.2 adapter rather than in a drive bay.
Lenovo's M.2 adapter guide records the 5300 M.2 drives being added on Dec 10, 2019 in three sizes: 240GB 4XB7A17071 (B8HS), this 480GB drive and 960GB 4XB7A17074 (B8JJ). The SR630 and SR650 product guides list it among their M.2 options, and the SN550 V2 guide lists it with a maximum of two per node. Lenovo describes the 5300 series as using Micron 96-layer 3D NAND as the follow-on to the 5200 series.
Lenovo Press shows this option as withdrawn. The later M.2 5400 PRO drives cover the same sizes: 240GB 4XB7A82286 (BQ1Z), 480GB 4XB7A82287 (BQ1Y) and 960GB 4XB7A82288 (BQ20). Unlike the 5400 PRO, this 5300 drive is not listed as self-encrypting.
To confirm fit, check that the server has a SATA M.2 adapter listed in Lenovo's M.2 guide; NVMe-only M.2 adapters do not take SATA drives. When mirroring two boot drives, use a matched pair of the same capacity.
