Lenovo lists 4XB7A17079 (feature code B8JP) as the ThinkSystem 2.5-inch 5300 3.84TB Entry SATA 6Gb hot-swap SSD. The 5300 series uses Micron 96-layer 3D NAND with a 6 Gbps SATA interface, and the Entry models are aimed at read-intensive jobs such as boot, web servers, lower data rate operational databases and analytics.
The 3.84TB drive is rated for 95,000 random read IOPS and 22,000 random write IOPS at 4 KB, with 540 MBps sequential read and 520 MBps sequential write. Sequential latency is 175 microseconds for reads and 350 for writes. Endurance is 1.2 drive writes per day, or 8,410 TB written, and the MTTF is 3,000,000 hours. This part number has no SED encryption.
Lenovo describes the 5300 series as the follow-on to the 5200 line: the controller, firmware and interface are shared, but the 96-layer flash gives higher endurance and lower latency than the 64-layer flash in the 5200. Entry capacities run from 240GB to 7.68TB, with endurance falling from 1.5 drive writes per day up to 1.92TB to 0.6 at 7.68TB.
