C3KX-NM-10G is the Cisco Catalyst 3K-X 10G network module for the Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X switches. It has four slots: two take 1 Gigabit SFP modules only, and the other two take either a 1 Gigabit SFP or a 10 Gigabit SFP+ module. The slots form two pairs, and each pair supports either two 1 Gigabit SFP modules or one 10 Gigabit SFP+ module.
Cisco announced end-of-sale on October 31, 2015; the end-of-sale date is October 30, 2016 and the last date of support is October 31, 2021. Cisco lists the C3850-NM-2-10G as the replacement and notes that it does not work with the Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X switches.
Cisco states that all network modules are hot-swappable and recommends installing a module before powering on the switch. The GLC-T copper SFP is not supported in the SFP+ slots of the C3KX-NM-10G. For 10 Gigabit use, Cisco lists SFP-10G-LR, SFP-10G-SR and SFP-10G-LRM modules and the SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M and SFP-H10GB-CU5M twinax cables. Cisco gives the module an MTBF of 2,468,553 hours.
Cisco also lists C3KX-NM-1G with four 1 Gigabit SFP slots, which does not support SFP+, C3KX-NM-10GT with two 10GBASE-T copper ports, and the C3KX-SM-10G service module with two 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports.
