15454-M-TNCE-K9 is the Cisco enhanced Transport Node Controller (TNC-E) card for the ONS 15454 M2, ONS 15454 M6, NCS 2006, CPT 200 and CPT 600 platforms. It handles system initialisation, provisioning, alarm reporting, maintenance, diagnostics, IP addressing, DCC termination, input-voltage monitoring and fault detection. It occupies a single card slot: slot 1 on the M2 and CPT 200, and slots 1 and 8 on the NCS 2006, M6 and CPT 600.
There are two OSC SFP ports. Port 1 can run as OC-3/STM-1, Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet, and port 2 as Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet. Cisco also lists an RJ-45 10/100/1000BASE-T LAN port, a DB-9 RS-232 craft port and a 100-Mbps user data channel on the OSC ports.
Timing comes from an internal Stratum 3 reference, an external BITS source or an incoming SONET or SDH optical signal, with holdover when preprovisioned references are unavailable. BITS options are 1.544 MHz, 2.048 MHz, 6.312 MHz, 64 kHz and 10 MHz, and the card supports Synchronous Ethernet with SSM.
The card runs a 1 GHz processor with 4 GB of nonvolatile flash and 1 GB of SDRAM, and Cisco rates its MTBF at 147,796 hours. It needs Release 9.3.0 or later.
Cisco lists the earlier TNC at an MTBF of 384,170 hours and Release 9.2.0 or later, without SyncE and SSM support. Other ONS 15454 cards are in the Cisco modules category, including the 15454-MRC-I-12 multirate card and the 15454-XC-VXC-10G cross-connect card.
