QSFP-100G-LR-S is a Cisco 100GBASE-LR1 QSFP transceiver for 10 km over G.652 single-mode fibre. LR1 sends 100G on a single wavelength, 1310 nm nominal, using PAM4 modulation with forward error correction. That differs from LR4 optics, which carry four wavelengths, so the two are not the same part even though both reach 10 km.

The connector is a duplex LC type, with one fibre for each direction. Transmit power is -1.4 to +4.5 dBm and receive power is -7.7 to +4.5 dBm, with a 1304.5 to 1317.5 nm transmit and receive window. Power consumption is 4.0 W, and the commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 C applies.

It is built to IEEE 802.3 100GBASE-LR1 and interoperates with other IEEE-compliant 100GBASE interfaces where applicable. Confirm the host port supports LR1 optics before ordering, since the host platform decides which optics it accepts.

The four-wavelength alternative is the QSFP-100G-LR4-S, and more optics are in the Cisco modules range.
