The 5 m (16.4 ft) version of the BladeSystem c-Class 40G QSFP+ to QSFP+ copper cable, with a QSFP+ transceiver at both ends for 40GbE links. Of the three lengths in the range it is the longest and heaviest, at 1.19 lb fully assembled.
The Virtual Connect FlexFabric-20/40 F8 module for c-Class BladeSystem supports it among its QSFP+ copper options, and that module does not support passive copper cables longer than 5 m, which makes this length the upper limit for passive runs there.
Each transceiver end draws 0.042 W at most. Electrical properties are 100 ohm characteristic impedance, 26 dB maximum crosstalk between pairs, 1.35 nsec per foot of delay and a 10-15 bit error rate ceiling.
The cable works between 0 and 70 C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, stores from -20 to 80 C and is rated up to 10,000 ft (3 km) altitude. HPE's spare number for this cable is 746965-001. HPE Misc covers further cables.
