A 5 m (16.4 ft) breakout cable with a QSFP+ transceiver at one end and four SFP+ transceivers at the other, so one 40GbE port feeds four separate 10GbE connections. It is the longer of the two copper splitter lengths in the BladeSystem c-Class range and is built from heavier cable than the 3 m version.
With all five transceivers fitted it weighs 3.09 lb. Power is 0.042 W at most at the QSFP+ end and 0.011 W at each SFP+ end.
The thicker cable shows in the handling limits: each SFP+ fan-out leg is 0.215 in across, and the minimum bend radius is 1.0 in at the SFP+ end and 2.45 in at the QSFP+ end.
Signal properties are 100 ohm impedance, 26 dB maximum crosstalk between pairs, 1.32 nsec per foot of delay and a 10-15 bit error rate ceiling.
It operates from 0 to 70 C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, stores between -20 and 80 C, and tolerates altitude up to 10,000 ft (3 km). The spare number for this cable is 746971-001. HPE Misc covers further cables.
