This HPE accessory is a cable kit that links the 8-bay small form factor drive backplane of a ProLiant DL360 Gen9 1U rack server to a Smart Array P440 controller installed in PCIe 3.0 slot 1 or slot 2, and it also cables the optional 2-bay SAS/SATA front drive kit.
Replacement cables for the kit include a 770 mm Mini-SAS x4 double cable assembly (spare 780419-001) and a 780 mm Mini-SAS x8 Y cable assembly (spare 780421-001) that both serve the 8-bay backplane, plus a Mini-SAS x4 Y cable for the same backplane (spare 787307-001).
The optional 2-bay small form factor backplane has its own pair of Mini-SAS x4 cables, spares 787305-001 and 787306-001, one for a host bus adapter and one for an array controller.
HPE names it the DL360 Gen9 SFF Smart Array P440/H240 SAS Cables kit, and it is required with the Smart Array P440 PCIe controllers 726821-B21 and 761872-B21, both 4 GB cache models. The LFF version for the four-bay cage is 775929-B21, the SFF kit for the P440ar and H240ar controllers is 766209-B21, and bays on the embedded B140i controller use the SFF Embedded SATA Cable, 766207-B21.
