The MS225-48FP is the full-PoE 48-port model of the Cisco Meraki MS225 series, cloud-managed Layer 2 access switches for branch sites. It has 48 Gigabit RJ-45 ports with PoE and PoE+, a 740 W PoE budget, four 1/10G SFP+ uplinks, two dedicated stack ports and a management port.
Switching capacity is 176 Gbps, and the two stack ports provide 80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth using QSFP stacking cables. Routing is static only, with features such as 802.1X, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, storm control and IPv4/IPv6 ACLs, all configured from the Meraki dashboard.
The power supply and fans are fixed internal parts. Meraki lists power draw of 54 W idle and 882 W maximum, operation from -5 to 50°C, and a 1U chassis of 1.72 x 19 x 13.38 in weighing 9.63 lb. Redundant power was available only through the external RPS-2300, which Meraki notes reached end of sale on May 31, 2023 with no replacement.
Siblings: the MS225-48LP has the same ports with a 370 W PoE budget, the MS225-48 has no PoE, and the MS225-24P is the 24-port PoE model. Meraki's MS210-48FP offers the same 740 W budget without 10G uplinks.
Lifecycle: Meraki announced end of sale for the MS225 series on October 30, 2025, with an end-of-sale date of April 30, 2026 and end of support on April 30, 2031.
