The J9020A is the HP 2510-48 Switch, a Layer 2 managed switch with 48 10/100 ports, two 10/100/1000 ports, two mini-GBIC (SFP) slots and an RS-232 serial console. HP rates it at 17.6 Gb/s switching capacity and up to 13 million packets per second (64-byte), with an 8,000-entry MAC table, a 512 KB packet buffer, 16 MB of flash and 128 MB of SDRAM. The case mounts in a 19-inch EIA rack (hardware included) or on a horizontal surface.
HP announced end of sale for the 2510-48 on July 10, 2013, with a last order date of November 30, 2013 and a last ship date of February 28, 2014. The notice does not map the J9020A to a single successor; it recommends the HP 2530 Switch Series as a group, which includes the J9781A 2530-48.
The 24-port sibling is the J9019B 2510-24 (24 10/100 ports, 8.8 Gb/s). The gigabit versions of the series are the 2510-24G (J9279A) and 2510-48G (J9280A).
