PartSurfer lists the JC105A as the HPE 5800-48G Switch, with spare JC105-61101 described as 48 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 ports and six 1000/10000 SFP+ ports in a 1U chassis; the record also carries the H3C-style number 0235A379, the HP A5800-48G Switch.
In April 2015 HP announced an A-to-B roll of the 5800 series: the JC105A HP 5800-48G Switch reached end of sale on April 30, 2015 or while supplies last, and its recommended replacement is the JC105B. HP states the new B SKUs keep all features of the SKUs they replace and add higher RAM and newer software. The same notice rolls the JC101A 48G with 2 slots, JC104A 48G-PoE and JC100A 24G to B versions.
HPE's retired 5800 QuickSpecs documents the B version as the FlexFabric 5800 48G 1-slot Switch and lists options for it, including the JC091A 4-port and JC092B 2-port 10GbE SFP+ modules, the JC094A 16-port Gig-T module, the JC095A 16-port SFP module and the JC098A 1RU spare fan assembly.
