HPE's 6200 yl specification describes the J8992A HP 6200-24G-mGBIC yl Switch with 24 open mini-GBIC (SFP) slots and one open module slot, supporting a maximum of four 10-GbE ports with the optional module. HP's end-of-sale notice calls it an advanced Layer 3 stackable switch in 1U, designed to aggregate traffic from the edge to the core and to take Gigabit mini-GBICs such as SX, LX, LH and 1000BASE-T.
It runs on a Freescale PowerPC 8540 at 666 MHz with 4 MB flash and 256 MB DDR SDRAM. HPE rates routing/switching capacity at 101.8 Gb/s, switch fabric speed at 105.6 Gb/s and throughput up to 75.7 million pps, with 1000 Mb latency under 3.7 µs. The chassis is 4.4 x 44.3 x 39.2 cm and 6.4 kg, drawing up to 243 W (1.8/0.9 A). Operating temperature is 0 to 55°C, or up to 40°C when any X2 10-GbE is used.
PartSurfer lists the chassis spare J8992-69101, the 5184-1894 DB-9 console cable and C14-to-C15 jumper cables. HP announced end of sale on December 11, 2013, effective June 30, 2014 or while supplies last, and recommended the J9584A HP 3800-24SFP-2SFP+ Switch as the replacement.
Fit check: the 6200yl is fibre-first with no copper access ports; for copper with PoE+ see J9311A, and 10G optics such as J9150D suit SFP+ platforms. The HPE Aruba and ProCurve switches page covers the family.
