PER750 is the code Dell uses in its own documentation for the PowerEdge R750 (its service manual is published as per750_ism_pub). The R750 is a 2U two-socket rack server for 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 40 cores per socket and a maximum TDP of 270 W. Memory runs across 32 DDR4 DIMM slots, 16 per processor, taking RDIMM, LRDIMM and 3DS modules at up to 3200 MT/s, and the server also supports Intel Optane PMem 200 Series modules.

Front storage comes as 8, 16 or 24 x 2.5-inch bays or 12 x 3.5-inch bays, with SAS, SATA and NVMe options, and some configurations add two or four rear 2.5-inch bays. Dell lists the HBA355i, HBA355e, H345, H745, H755, H755N and H840 controllers plus S150 software RAID, and BOSS-S1 or hot-plug BOSS-S2 for mirrored boot drives. Expansion is up to eight PCIe Gen4 slots plus an OCP 3.0 slot, and the chassis takes up to two double-width 300 W GPUs.

Power supplies run in a 1+1 redundant pair, from 800 W Platinum to 2800 W mixed-mode Titanium, including an 1100 W Titanium AC unit; Dell's FR0KX 1100 W PSU firmware package lists the R750.

When buying a used R750, confirm the drive-bay layout, the PERC model and the PSU wattage, because these decide which drives, GPUs and power feeds the server will accept. System weight runs from 27.7 kg without drives to 35.3 kg for the 12 x 3.5-inch chassis.
