IBM #AH2D 15.36TB 12 Gb SAS 2.5 Inch Flash Drive for 2076, 2145, 2147, 4666, 9846 and 9848

IBM feature #AH2D is a 15.36 TB 12 Gb SAS 2.5-inch flash drive for the 2U SAS expansion enclosures of IBM SAN Volume Controller and IBM FlashSystem, machine types 2076, 2145, 2147, 4666, 9846 and 9848. For the SAN Volume Controller it is a 15.3 TB tier 1 SAS 2.5-inch flash drive with minimum software level 7.8.0, used in the 2145-24F and 2147-24F expansion enclosures. The 24F holds up to 24 2.5-inch SAS drives and attaches through the 4-port 12 Gbps SAS adapter, feature #AH13.

On the FlashSystem 9100 and 9200 (9846 and 9848) and the FlashSystem 9500 (4666) the drive is supported on the SFF expansion Model AFF only, with a maximum of 24. The AFF is a 2U 19-inch rack-mount enclosure with two expansion canisters and 12 Gb SAS ports for attachment to the control enclosure. It formats its drives as RAID 5 or DRAID 6 on the 9100 and as DRAID 1 or DRAID 6 on the 9500. On the FlashSystem 7200 (2076) the drive is supported on expansion Model 24G, which also holds up to 24 SFF drives.

A 9100 controller pair supports up to 480 drives with AFF enclosures and a SAS chain supports a total weight of 10. A 9500 control enclosure supports up to 72 drives in three AFF enclosures per SAS chain, with each 4666-AFF adding 1 to a chain weight of three. FRU 01EJ992 is the 15.36 TB tier 1 flash drive in the 2145-24F, and the 15.36 TB 2.5-inch RI flash drive units for the 9846-AFF, 9848-AFF and 4666-AFF are FRU 01LJ385 and 01LJ393.

The same enclosures take the 1.92 TB #AH2A, the 3.84 TB #AH2B and the 7.68 TB #AH2C. The 30.72 TB #AH2E is available for the AFF enclosure of the FlashSystem 9500.
