IBM #AH7J 1.92 TB 12 Gb SAS 3.5 Inch Flash Drive for 2076, 2145, 2147, 4657, 4666, 9846 and 9848

IBM feature #AH7J is a 1.92 TB 12 Gb SAS 3.5-inch flash drive for the high-density expansion enclosures of IBM FlashSystem and IBM SAN Volume Controller, machine types 2076, 2145, 2147, 4657, 4666, 9846 and 9848. On the FlashSystem models the flash drives in this family are 2.5-inch SAS drives in 3.5-inch carriers. For the SAN Volume Controller the drive is a 1.92 TB tier 1 SAS flash drive for the 2145-92F and 2147-92F expansion enclosures, with minimum software level 7.8.0.

On the FlashSystem 7200 (2076) and the FlashSystem 7300 (4657) the drive is supported on expansion Model 92G only, with a maximum of 92. On the FlashSystem 9100 and 9200 (9846 and 9848) and the FlashSystem 9500 (4666) it is supported on the LFF expansion Model A9F only, again with a maximum of 92, and the A9F accepts SAS SSDs only. The 92G and A9F are 5U 19-inch rack-mount enclosures with up to 92 drives top-loaded into their drive slots.

Drives in the 92G are formatted as RAID 5 or DRAID 6 on the 7200 and as DRAID 1 or DRAID 6 on the 7300. The A9F formats its drives as RAID 5 or DRAID 6 on the 9100 and 9200 and as DRAID 1 or DRAID 6 on the 9500. A 9100 controller pair supports up to 736 drives with A9F enclosures, while a 9500 control enclosure takes one A9F for 92 drives. Each 92G or A9F enclosure adds 2.5 to the SAS chain weight, and a chain supports a total weight of 10 on the 7200 and 9100 and three on the 9500.

The 1.92 TB tier 1 flash drive is FRU 01LJ069 in the 2076-92G and 4664-92G enclosure and FRU 01LJ075 in the 2145-92F and 2147-92F. Larger 3.5-inch flash drives for the same enclosures are the 3.84 TB #AH7K, the 7.68 TB #AH7L and the 15.36 TB #AH7M.
