The J9137A is the HP 2520-8-PoE Switch: eight autosensing 10/100 ports with IEEE 802.3af PoE (up to 15.4 W per port, 67 W total) and two dual-personality ports that are either RJ-45 10/100/1000 or SFP. HP rates switching capacity at 5.6 Gbps and throughput at 4.1 million packets per second, with an 8,000-entry MAC table, 32 MB flash, 128 MB DDR2 SDRAM and a 384 KB packet buffer.
The unit is fanless and 1U, 6.28 x 10 x 1.75 in, and mounts in a 19-inch rack with a kit, on a horizontal surface or on a wall. It takes 100-240 VAC at 1.5 A; idle power is 9.4 W and the maximum rating is 85.5 W.
HP announced end of sale on July 10, 2013, with a last order date of November 30, 2013 and a last ship date of February 28, 2014. It recommends the HP 2530 series as a group, which includes the J9780A 2530-8-PoE+. The gigabit sibling is the J9298A 2520-8G-PoE (same 67 W budget, 20 Gbps); the 24-port version is the J9138A with 195 W.
